<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device that can be easily held by a hand and is resistant to sliding. <P>SOLUTION: A portable device includes first and second housings, and a two-axis hinge that connects the first and second housings so as to be rotatable around two different axes. The first housing has a projection installed at a position corresponding to the two-axis hinge. A user supports a bottom surface 12 of a housing 10 by an arm and grips the projection 144 by a hand to hold a notebook computer 1. The notebook-sized computer 1 is made hardly slidable against the user's arm by installing a plurality of projections R on the bottom surface 12 side of the housing 10.
