PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound source positioning apparatus capable of positioning sound sources and determining attributes of the sound sources.

SOLUTION: A sound source positioning apparatus comprises an LRF (laser range finder) group 56 that detects positions of persons; a sound source positioning processor 60 that calculates MUSIC power in each of a plurality of directions at prescribed time intervals on the basis of each of sound source signals on a plurality of channels obtained from the output of a microphone array group 52, a positional relationship between individual microphones included in the microphone arrays and the output of the LRF group 56, and detects at prescribed time intervals the peak of the MUSIC power as sound source positions; a sound source separation processor 70 that separates from the output signals of the microphone arrays audio signals from the sound source positions detected by the sound source positioning processor 60; and a sound source type identifying processor 72 that accurately determines attributes of the separated audio signals by using the output of a personal position measuring device 58.
