<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a liquid crystalline polyester resin, which can suppress corrosion of a vessel inner wall surface during an oligomerization reaction in an acetylation reaction vessel, and can inhibit adhesion of foreign matter to the vessel inner surface so as to improve washing cycle and quality. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing a liquid crystalline polyester comprises: conducting acetylation reaction and oligomerization reaction of raw materials in the acetylation reaction vessel, and thereafter conducting acetic acid-removing polycondensation in a polycondensation reaction vessel. As the acetylation reaction vessel, a vessel the inner wall surface of which is composed of an alloy containing 50 mass% or more Ni and 10 mass% or more Mo, is used, where the inner wall of the acetylation reaction vessel is divided into three or more belt-like zones juxtaposed in the height direction of the vessel, and oligomerization reaction is conducted while the temperature of respective belt-like zones are kept in a specified relationship. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
