<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission and a method for controlling the same, capable of more properly coping with a shift instruction to the other gear shift stage when the shift instruction is issued before upshift instruction of the transmission which has been issued is completed. <P>SOLUTION: When the second upshift instruction is issued before the first upshift instruction of the automatic transmission which has been issued is completed (S200 and S210), the second upshift is allowed to be carried out in case the second upshift instruction is issued before torque down of the engine is started by an engine ECU based on the torque down instruction, and in case the second upshift instruction is issued after the torque down of the engine is started by the engine ECU based on the torque down instruction, the second upshift is, in principle, prohibited from being executed (S220 and S260). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
