<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silica container having a large size, high dimentional accuracy, high durability and an essential structural component of silica from an inexpensive and relatively low-grade silica powder as a main raw material with low energy inputted and at a low cost, and to provide the silica container produced by the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing the silica container having an essential structural component of silica and rotational symmetry, a silica base body having at least silica as the essential structural component and the rotational symmetry is formed and a transparent silica glass layer is formed from silica sol on the inner surface of the silica base body by a sol-gel method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
