<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator motor capable of improving assemblability and to provide a work machine having the same. <P>SOLUTION: A generator motor 5, connected to an output shaft of an engine installed on a work machine, includes a terminal box 8 for connecting external power supply cables to the generator motor 5. The terminal box 8 includes an exclosure section 8A having an internal space communicating with the inside of a housing of the generator motor 5.
