<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required for switching between a normal checkout mode and a self checkout mode. <P>SOLUTION: A checkout terminal device includes: a rotating mechanism capable of stopping at two positions, rotatably supporting the checkout terminal device; a locking mechanism for locking or unlocking the rotation of the rotating mechanism at the two positions; and a guidance information part for displaying at least on a monitor an operation procedure guidance about switching to the normal checkout mode or the self checkout mode when switching from the one to the other at the two positions. The guidance information part checks whether the mode can be switched to the normal checkout mode or the self checkout mode. When the mode can be switched, the locking mechanism unlocks the rotation of the rotating mechanism so that the checkout terminal device can be rotated. After stopping the checkout terminal device at one of the two positions, the locking mechanism locks the rotation of the rotating mechanism so that the mode is switched to the normal checkout mode or the self checkout mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
