<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece having display means with a memory property, which enables a user to confirm that a state of discontinuing display is not caused by malfunction by letting him/her know its reason. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic timepiece 1 includes: an electrophoretic display (EPD) display device 3; a solar battery 20; a power generation detection circuit 21 for detecting a power generation state of the solar battery 20; a timer 22 for measuring non-power generation duration during which the power generation state cannot be detected by the power generation detection circuit 21; and a display control circuit 14 for controlling the EPD display device 3. When the non-power generation duration measured by the timer 22 exceeds a predetermined setting time, the display control circuit 14 makes the EPD display device 3 indicate a state of saving power and extends intervals of refresh operation of display. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
