<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin electronic card having a flexible substrate power supply, improved I/O capacity, improved security, and an improved emulator function, and provide a manufacturing method for the electronic card. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic card 10 comprises: digital processors 44 and 52; an electrochemical battery 121; and a communication port. The processors 44 and 52 and the battery 121 are provided on the same plane and are held between and covered by two flexible covers 140 and 146. The flexible covers 140 and 146 are made of an insulation plastic material, and fit components to be covered by the covers. The communication port may include a smart card contact pad, a stripe emulator, an RF port, an IR port, or the like. The battery 121 may be rechargeable. The processors 44 and 52 may be attached to a flexible printed circuit (PC board) 136.
