<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low NOx combustion device capable of performing safe combustion operation while preventing abnormal low-O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>combustion. <P>SOLUTION: The combustion device comprises a burner 1, an air ratio control means 28, an oxidation catalyst 4 using oxygen for oxidizing carbon monoxide in gas from the burner 1 and using carbon monoxide for reducing nitrogen oxide, and a sensor 7 for detecting an air ratio. The burner 1 has such characteristics that the concentration ratio of oxygen, nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide to one another in the gas on the primary side of the oxidation catalyst 4 is a predetermined concentration ratio when a set air ratio is established. The oxidation catalyst 4 has such characteristics as to make the concentration of the nitrogen oxide on the secondary side of the oxidation catalyst to be substantially zero or a predetermined value or smaller and to make the concentration of carbon monoxide to be substantially zero or a predetermined value or smaller when a predetermined concentration ratio is established. The air ratio control means 28 stops the combustion in the burner 1 and informs about abnormal combustion when the output of the sensor 7 is a set value or smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
