BACKLIGHT MODULE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

A backlight module (10, 60), including a light guide plate (11, 61) and at least one spot light source (13) providing light to the light guide plate (11, 61). The area of the light guide plate (11, 61) corresponding to the spot light source (13) includes a main light guide area and an auxiliary light guide area, with a plurality of micro scattering structures (118, 218, 318, 418, 518, 618) provided in the auxiliary light guide area for scattering the light entering therein. The backlight module (10, 60), with the advantage of uniform brightness, can significantly reduce or eliminate the occurrence of hotspot phenomena. Also provided is a liquid crystal display device applying the backlight module (10, 60) above.
