<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable handswitch for sealing a blood vessel and a blood tissue, and to provide an open vessel bipolar forceps having electrode assembly. <P>SOLUTION: A removable handswitch and electrode assembly 100 for use with the forceps include: a housing 101 having at least one portion which removably engages at least a portion of a mechanical forceps; a handswitch assembly 200 disposed on the housing 101 and adapted to connect to an electrosurgical generator; a pair of electrodes that are releasably engageable with a distal end of the mechanical forceps; and at least one stop member that is operably associated with the pair of electrodes and controls the distance between the opposing electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
