<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating contaminated soil containing arsenic in which the arsenic in the contaminated soil is effectively, stably fixed on a long-term basis to detoxify the contaminated soil. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating contaminated soil containing arsenic includes the steps of: oxidizing trivalent arsenic in the contaminated soil to a form of pentavalent arsenic using aresnious acid-oxidizing bacteria; and mixing iron-based sulfate and burnt dolomite with the soil to insolubilize the arsenic. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
