DRIVING OPERATION SUPPORT DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a travel environment that should be taken into consideration in improving driving operation and provide a driving message corresponding to the travel environment.

SOLUTION: An operation history generating unit 12 acquires driving operation information showing a driving operation amount of a vehicle and travel environment information showing a travel environment in a travel route of the vehicle and stores the driving operation information and the travel environment information in association with each other. An object operation selection unit 40 calculates an evaluation value of the driving operation amount for each combination of the travel environment information and extracts object operation information showing the type of the driving operation amount to be an object of driving evaluation based on the evaluation value. An environment factor estimation unit 44 extracts environment factor information to be an object of the operation evaluation based on expression probability distribution of the driving operation amount from a combination of the travel environment information corresponding to the object operation information. A message extraction unit 46 extracts a driving message referring to a message DB 48 based on the object operation information and the environment factor information.
