A relay satellite comprises: a plurality of reception antennas; a plurality of reception processing means; a plurality of transmission processing means; a plurality of transmission antennas; a reception analog switch matrix unit (22) that outputs a signal received by a reception antenna to one or more of the reception processing means; a digital switch matrix unit (31) that outputs a digital received signal, which is acquired by the reception processings performed by the plurality of reception processing means, to one or more of the transmission processing means; and a transmission analog switch matrix unit that outputs an analog signal, which is acquired by the transmission processings performed by the plurality of transmission processing means, to one of the transmission antennas. When a received signal of a band, which is wider than the bands that can be processed by the reception processing means, is input to the reception analog switch matrix unit (22), the received signal of the wider band is output by the reception analog switch matrix unit (22) to the plurality of reception processing means. When the signal of the wider band is input to the reception processing means, the reception processings are performed for a part of that band by the reception processing means.
