<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet that achieves desired chromaticity and has properties superior in surface quality, light resistance, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the thermal transfer image receiving sheet includes a step of using an aqueous dispersion coating liquid where a solvent solution containing dye is emulsified in an aqueous solution to form an intermediate layer on a base material.
