<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting and continuous casting method using this immersion nozzle, which can suppress blockage of the immersion nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle for continuous casting in which a spinel graphite refractory is arranged at least in the inner face is characterized in that the spinel graphite refractory containes, in mass%, C: 11-45%, MgO: 6-25%, Al<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>: 40-80%, and CaO: 1-7%. The continuous casting method for a cast slab in which molten metal is poured into a casting mold using the immersion nozzle for continuous casting is characterized in that an electrode is provided in the immersion nozzle for continuous casting, and casting is performed while electricity is turned on the molten metal through the spinel graphite refractory. It is preferable that the spinel graphite refractory is made to be a cathode, a counter electrode which serves as an anode is immersed in the molten metal, the average current density during turning on electricity is 1-30 mA/cm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
