Provided is a hot press molded article obtained by hot press molding of a thin steel plate, wherein, by selecting a material where the metallographic structure includes residual austenite at 3 to 20 bulk percent, the balance between strength and elasticity can be controlled so as to be within a suitable range and high ductility can be obtained.
