<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a predoping readily without the need for adding a manufacturing process, and to achieve the increase in energy density, and the improvement of cycle characteristics without the sacrifice of stability. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a lithium ion power storage device 10 which includes a positive electrode 18 having a positive electrode active material including a lithium-containing compound, and a negative electrode 12 having an alloy based negative electrode active material, a charging potential in the first cycle is made higher than charging potentials in the second and subsequent cycles. In the method, a material of existing active substance, i.e. a material of active substance which has not gone through a special manufacturing step designed for execution of predoping is used, and the predoping from the positive electrode to the negative electrode 12 can be performed by only controlling the charging potential. Therefore, the method allows the execution of the predoping in safety, and the suppression of the reduction in energy density while cutting the manufacturing cost without the need for providing a third electrode for predoping.
