<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a service life of a display element by solving such a problem that, when a DMD (Digital Micro-mirror Device) which is a reflection type display device is used as an on-vehicle device under high temperature environment, irreversible bright-spot or black-spot defects are generated to cause a short life of the display element. <P>SOLUTION: Field control means 92 causes a display element 30 to display a display image D, and illumination control means 91 drives respective illumination means 11r and 11g by a field sequential method for each sub frame SF formed by temporally dividing a frame F of the display image D. The frame F includes: a display period Fa for, when the display control means 92 regularly drives a plurality of pixels and the illumination control means 91 drives the illumination means 11r and 11g, displaying the display image D on the display element 30; and a non-display period Fb for, when the display control means 92 drives a plurality of pixels for non-display period and the illumination control means 91 turns off the illumination means 11r and 11g, displaying no display image D on the display element 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
