PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of equalizing received wireless communication signals.

SOLUTION: A receiver 112 includes: a pre-decoding equalizer 140 for determining a plurality of filter weights by applying both a blind equalization and a least-mean-squares (LMS) equalization to a wireless communication signal received over a wireless communication channel; a channel estimator 142 for estimating a channel frequency response of the channel based on the filter weights; and a turbo equalization scheme 130 having a decoder 132 for decoding the wireless communication signal and a turbo equalizer 134 for equalizing the decoded wireless communication signal using the estimated channel frequency response.
