<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce both a light reflection performance and a crosstalk of an image display device having a translucent substrate on a display surface. <P>SOLUTION: In the image display device which has an image display section (10), and a first polarizing film (11) and a translucent protection substrate (12) in the front side in a viewing side of the image display section, in this order, an antireflection layer (16) is arranged between the first polarizing film (11) and the translucent protection substrate (12) or in the further front side in the viewing side of the translucent protection substrate (12); when the absolute value of the sum of Rth of all members arranged in the front side in the viewing side of the first polarizing film is 20 nm or less; and a first λ/4 layer is provided between the first polarizing film and the substrate for protection or in the further front side in the viewing side of the substrate (12) for protection, the absolute value of the sum of Re of all members other than the first λ/4 layer which are arranged in the front side in the viewing side of the first polarizing film is 10 nm or less; or when the first λ/4 layer is not provided therebetween or therein, the absolute value of the sum of Re of all members which are arranged in the front side in the viewing side of the first polarizing film is 10 nm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
