<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for recovering high-purity niobium raw material from glass scrap containing niobium and boron. <P>SOLUTION: This method for separating and refining niobium includes: the first step for bringing a raw material aqueous solution containing niobium, hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid into contact with an organic solvent obtained by diluting a phosphoryl-based extracting agent by using a peroleum-based hydrocarbon diluent, to thereby extract niobium into the organic solvent; the second step for cleaning the organic solvent after extraction by water or sulfuric acid, to thereby reduce furthermore impurities remaining in the organic solvent; and the third step for reversely extracting niobium contained in the organic solvent having reduced impurities into an aqueous solvent, to thereby obtain niobium refined liquid, wherein a free hydrofluoric acid concentration in the raw material aqueous solution in the first step is 2-10 mol/L, and the boron content in impurities in the niobium refined liquid is ≤10 ppm with respect to niobium oxide obtained from the niobium refined liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
