A power generation system (130) is provided with: a warm water tank (10) for storing warm water; a fuel cell device (20) for generating power using fuel gas and oxidant gas, outputting power, and supplying heat to the warm water tank; a heat supply device (30) for supplying heat to the warm water tank, the heat supply device being provided separately from the fuel cell device; and a controller (40) for operating the fuel cell device according to a first operation schedule defined in advance, and operating the heat supply device according to a second operation schedule defined in advance. The controller is configured so as to execute, on the basis of the first operation schedule, a second operation schedule modification control for operating the heat supply device using a method that differs from that of the second operation schedule defined in advance. The second operation schedule modification control reduces the output of the heat supply device according to the operation of the fuel cell device performed according to the first operation schedule so that operation of the fuel cell device can be executed in accordance with the first operation schedule.
