Provided is a power factor correction converter in which the inductor current can be adjusted with a high degree of accuracy even at a light load, and output to load can be stabilized at a lower inductor current. The present invention is provided with: a light load detection circuit (45) for generating, when power supplied to load (5) is equal to or less than a predetermined level, a light load detection signal (V11) having a strength corresponding to the supplied power; a target waveform generation circuit (46) for generating a target waveform of an inductor current flowing in the inductor on the basis of an input DC voltage (Vi); and a drive signal generation circuit (47) for generating a drive signal (Vg) for driving a switch (41) so that the inductor current follows the target waveform. The target waveform generation circuit (46) is configured so as to generate, when the light load detection signal (V11) indicates a light load, a target waveform having a period in which the amplitude of the target waveform is at the zero level (hereafter referred to as a zero-level period), the zero-level period being adjusted according to the strength of the light load detection signal (V11). |
