The dishwasher has a front door, a supporting unit (4) and a protection plate extended over the width of the dishwasher in an extension of a lower end of the front door. The protection plate is hinged for enabling direct access to a cavity behind the protection plate or the protection plate is moved in an inner side of the cavity. A drawer unit is arranged in the cavity behind the protection plate, and has rails for moving a drawer. The protection plate has a window that is made of transparent material. The protection plate is made of plastic, glass or metal.
