<p>The method involves detecting measured variables (C, D) e.g. heat profile and temperature profile, by a sensor (3) e.g. infrared sensitive line sensor (3a), aligned to metal sheets (1, 1a). The measured variables are used for recognition of a single and/or doubled layer of the metal sheets. The metal sheets are heated in a continuous furnace or a chamber furnace before detecting the measured variables, and infrared radiation (B) radiated from the metal sheets is detected as the measured variables. The measured variables at lateral edge areas (2, 2a) of one of the metal sheets are detected. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for contactless control of double metal sheets.</p> |
