PURPOSE: An intelligent monitoring system with an in-vehicle camera and a proximity sensor and a method thereof are provided to display an image of a back seat by priority according to a situation. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle back seat camera(100) takes an image of a back seat. A rear vehicle sensor(400) senses the approach of another vehicle to a rear side of a vehicle. A back seat situation management and control unit(600) controls changes of a warning displayed on a rear vehicle display device(200) and the selection of an image displayed on a front seat display device(300) based on the image of the vehicle back seat camera and the sensing result of the rear vehicle sensor.
