IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND COLOR CORRECTION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An image displaying device and a color correcting method are provided to correct an image signal according to an adaptive display primary color spectrum, thereby showing an image without a change of a color and degradation of luminance under external light. CONSTITUTION: A displaying unit(10) displays an image according to an image signal. A sensor unit(20) measures a spectrum of incident external light from the displaying unit. A correction signal providing unit(30) predicts an adaptive display primary color spectrum which a viewer recognizes by using a spectrum refraction ratio of the displaying unit, maximum display primary color spectrum of the displaying unit and the spectrum of the external light. The correction signal providing unit provides a correction signal correcting the image signal according to the adaptive display primary color spectrum.
