PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus setting method of an illumination system in which a correspondence between an illumination apparatus connected with a network and a switching part can be made easy. SOLUTION: In the apparatus setting method, a plurality of illumination apparatuses 3 and a switching control unit 5 having a plurality of switching parts 11 are connected with a network 7 and a physical identification number given to each of the illumination apparatuses 3 and a physical identification number given to the switching parts 11 are made to correspond by 1 to 1, and the plurality of the illumination apparatuses are lit up and photographed by a camera unit 26, and each illumination apparatus on the photo image is corresponded to a same position on an arranged position of the switching part and a theoretical identification number is recognized, and then an arbitral illumination apparatus is switched off one by one and photographed by the camera unit, and based on the photo images, positions on the arranged position of the switched-off illumination apparatus is detected one by one and its theoretical identification number is obtained, and the physical identification number of the switching part corresponding to the theoretical identification number is made to correspond to the physical identification number of the switched-off illumination apparatus.
