The method involves temporarily supplying preset amount of ink during a printing operation. The color differences between two successive print jobs are calculated by a control computer and the amount of ink supplied to inking unit of the printing machine is equalized based on color differences between the print jobs. Large amount of ink supplied during the start of last print job is removed while stopping dampening solution supply by the control computer.
