[Class 12 (i)] A twin roller-bearing unit, for taking radial and axial thrust, comprises inner and outer races 22, 24, having coned seatings 34, 32 for sets of conical rollers 26 rotatably mounted on pins 36 which are secured, as by riveted heads 42, to cage-rings 38 recessed into the outer faces of the bearing. Lubricating passages 44 are provided in the rollers. As shown in Fig. 5, the rollers are recessed to house flanges 40 on the pins 36, and shields 58 are fitted to the outer race 24, small clearances 60 being left between the flanged openings of the shields and the inner race 22.</p> |
