摘要 PURPOSE: A method for estimating the accumulation amount of soot in a diesel particulate filter is provided to control the regeneration of a DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter) with high reliability and fast response property. CONSTITUTION: A method for estimating the accumulation amount of soot in a diesel particulate filter comprises following steps. The permeability(Kp) and porosity(&egr;P) of a soot sedimentary layer are calculated to the accumulation amount of soot. The permeability and porosity of a soot sedimentary layer are determined by the function of an average flow speed. The function of the average flow speed is the speed that particle material passes through the wall of the DPF and the temperature of the DPF. The permeability and porosity of a soot sedimentary layer are calculated according to an equation. The constant, C3 and C4 are applied as the fixed constant in the equation.
