The inventive drive train (1) is adapted for a vehicle, and comprises at least a combustion engine (2), a main transmission (5) and a rotatable mass (4), such as a flywheel or a torque converter, arranged there between. The inventive drive train (1) is characterised in, that an additional transmission mechanism (3) is arranged in the power flow in between the main transmission (5) and the engine (2). Said additional transmission mechanism (3) is provided with at least a first and a second transmission ratio and wherein said first transmission ratio is higher than said second transmission ratio. The additional transmission mechanism (3) can be shifted between the first and the second transmission ratio without accelerating said rotatable mass (4) or any masses in the main transmission. |
