The braking band (4) has openings between a band outer side and a band inner side in a region and another region. The openings are arranged in the former region in surface density and along a band circumference in the latter region in surface density that is increased against the former region. The openings are arranged in such a manner that the openings are provided with connection with separate suction chambers or suction openings. An independent claim is included for a braking device for sheet brake in a delivery of a sheet-processing machine.
