The system has an inverter (18) connected with a photovoltaic generator (14) to convert direct current (DC) voltage into alternate current (AC) voltage, where the DC voltage is produced by solar modules (10) in a photovoltaic manner. A destruction device (28) makes the photovoltaic generator to be partially inoperative, causes partial overloading of the generator, and makes all solar modules of the generator to be non-functioned, if necessary. An emergency stop switching device (24) activates the destruction device. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a photovoltaic system.
