Disclosed is a method for extracting the contents of a reaction vessel maintained at high temperature and high pressure, which includes the following steps: a step of introducing the contents of a reaction vessel into piping having an internal space which communicates with the reaction vessel; a step of closing the piping to enclose the contents in the internal space; a step of removing the unneeded gas from the internal space; and a step of feeding an inert gas into the internal space to replace the contents enclosed in the internal space with the inert gas. The contents enclosed in the internal space are expelled from the internal space by replacing the contents with the inert gas.
