PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR TREATING OR PREVENTING FATTY LIVER DISEASE COMPRISING EXTRACT OF CYPERI RHIZOMA

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition for treating and preventing steatosis which contains cyperi rhizoma extracts is provided to obstruct inter-combination between LSR and TRAP80. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating and preventing steatosis contains cyperi rhizoma extracts. The steatosis is alcohol steatosis or vial call steatosis. The cyperi rhizoma suppresses lipogenesis by controlling inter-combination between TRAP80 and LXR. The cyperi rhizoma extract selectively controls transcription of SREBP-1c. The cyperi rhizoma extract is extracted with C1-4 alcohol, hexane, cychlohexan, methylene chloride, chloroform, ether(ethyl ether), ethyl acetate, water or a mixed solvent thereof. The cyperi rhizoma extract is obtained by the following steps: extracting the cyperi rhizoma with methanol or ethanol; suspending the methanol or ethanol extract in distilled water; adding identical amount of hexane as distilled water and partitioning thereof.
