PURPOSE: An expansion joint device is provided to efficiently guide rainwater flowing into an upper plate joint to a draining unit by inserting a drain member between plates of a plate portion. CONSTITUTION: An expansion joint device comprises plate portions(110) and a drain member(130). The plate portions are installed on an upper plate joint of a bridge and face each other. Each plate portion comprises first and second plates(111,115) and an intermediate plate(113). The first plates are exposed to the road surface of the bridge. The second plates are arranged under the first plates. The intermediate plates are inserted between the first and second plates.
