PURPOSE: A water filtering apparatus with an enhanced filtering function is provided to completely filter pollutants of fine particle sizes by additionally filtering pollutants using a sponge-shaped filter. CONSTITUTION: A water filtering apparatus includes an inlet, a filtering unit(20), an outlet, a draining path, and a backwashing unit. Polluted water is introduced into the inlet. The filtering unit filters pollutants from the polluted water. The outlet discharges the filtered water from the filtering unit. The draining path drains backwashing water containing the pollutants. The backwashing unit induces the backwashing water to the draining path. The filtering unit includes a fixed filter(21) and a sponge-shaped filter(23).
