FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of veneer stock for production of sliced veneer and process shavings. Proposed device to transfer cylinder 1 from processing line to conveyor 2 comprises two parallel V-shape prisms 16. Said prisms are connected by crossbar to make receiver 3 with two hydraulic cylinders 11. Proposed manipulator is equipped with guide plate 18 with guide wheels 17. Said receiver is hinged on both sides to ""-like spaced apart levers of rotary posts. One rotary post is hinged onto carcass crossbar 7 to rest on two support tubes 9. Other moving posts of two ""-like levers are directed outward from cylinder receiver and provided with hinge joints. Rotary posts of two ""-like levers are hinged with hydraulic cylinder rod 10. Two guide wheels are arranged under hinge on said moving posts of ""-like levers. Said guide wheels displace in appropriated ledges on guide plate. Guide plate ledges make obtuse angle rounded along design radius R. Two stops 19 are arranged under crossbar of V-shape prisms, on their edges.
