<p>Disclosed are a cell handover method and system. The method comprises: before a relay node (RN)performs handover, a source base station obtaining a configuration information source of the RN; and the base station sending to the RN signaling carrying the configuration information of the RN. The present invention enables the RN to establish a new relay cell as quick as possible, thereby avoiding data transmission failure of a user equipment in the relay cell due to reconstruction failure or handover failure.</p>
