Disclosed is a cylinder block for a straight multi-cylinder engine. The cylinder block according to the present invention is characterized in that a cam chamber is formed above a right balance chamber of a pair of left and right balance chambers formed at a left and a right side of a cylinder bore, a cam shaft is rotatably loaded in the inside of the cam chamber, a plurality of tappet holes for providing tappets are formed in a direction perpendicular to the cam chamber above each position of the cylinder block corresponding to each cam surface of the cam shaft, the cam chamber and the balance chambers are separated from each other through barrier ribs, and an oil drain tube having an entrance formed at one side of the barrier ribs is extended from the barrier ribs to a bottom surface portion of the cylinder block. |
