PURPOSE: A grinding apparatus equipped with a slab-shaped measuring unit is provided to prevent faults caused by the camber of a slab by calculating restricted work region following the shape of the slab while grinding. CONSTITUTION: A grinding apparatus equipped with a slab-shaped measuring unit comprises a worktable(110), a slab(100), first and second moving bases(120, 130), a grinder(140), a distance measuring unit(150), and a control unit. The worktable is mounted on an x-y plane and a reference line(111) is formed on x-axis. One side of the slab is arranged on the x-axis of the worktable. The first and the second moving base are reciprocated along the x-axis and the y-axis respectively. The grinder is fixed to the second moving base and grinds slab. The distance measuring unit is settled on the first moving base and measures the distance to the side of the slab adjacent to the reference line. The control unit controls the first moving base and the distance measuring unit to perform continuous measuring. |
