[Problem] To provide an impact tool, the body of which is shortened in the direction of the long axis of a tool bit. [Solution] An impact tool in which a tool bit (119) moves linearly in at least the direction of the long axis thereof, thereby working a workpiece in a prescribed manner. Said impact tool has the following: a tool holder (137) that holds the tool bit (119) so as to allow relative movement in the direction of the long axis thereof; an impactor (143) that moves linearly in the direction of the long axis of the tool bit (119) and applies an impact force thereto; and an impact cylinder (141) that is provided with an air chamber (141a) that causes compressed air to act upon the impactor (143), contains the impactor (143) so as to allow relative movement, and is coupled to the tool holder (137). The tool holder (137) and the impact cylinder (141) extend in the direction of the long axis of the tool bit (119), and the length of the body of the tool in the direction of the long axis of the tool bit (119) is determined by the tool holder (137) and the impact cylinder (141). |
