PURPOSE: A side airbag apparatus is provided to restrict an airbag cushion so that the airbag cushion is not pushed back by passengers. CONSTITUTION: A side airbag apparatus comprises an airbag cushion(10), an airbag housing, and a closed loop(30). The airbag cushion is expanded by gas. The airbag housing comprises a first side wall(22) and a second side wall. The airbag cushion is inserted in between the first and second side walls. The closed loop comprises first and second hinge points. The airbag cushion protrudes form between the first and second side walls. The first hinge point is rotated around first side wall in between the first side wall and the airbag cushion by the weight of a passenger. The second hinge point is rotated around the second side wall at the outer side of the second side wall. |
