ANTIBODIES TO RECEPTOR OF ADVANCED GLYCATION END PRODUCTS (RAGE) AND USES THEREOF

Provided is an isolated monoclonal antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof which specifically binds to human Receptor Advanced Glycation End products (RAGE), wherein said antibody is capable of binding to the C2 domain of human RAGE that comprises at least amino acid residues 238-314 of human RAGE protein having a specified sequence and wherein said antibody does not bind an epitope of the V domain or the C1 domain of human RAGE. Further provided are similar antibodies with six defined CDR sequence of the heavy and light chain. The antibodies are useful in treating RAGE-mediated diseases, including brain and neuron diseases, brain injury, Alzheimers and various inflammatory diseases related to rheumatoid arthritis.
