The device (9) has a movable probe (15) comprising a body (16) whose cylindrical external shape is defined by a guiding curve (19). A set of electromagnetic type sensitive elements (17) e.g. giant magneto-resistances, is arranged on an outer cylindrical surface of the body, and is intended to the provided opposite to an inner surface of a lumen (10). A set of projections of the sensitive elements is provided parallel to a generator, and on the guiding curve, where the projections are distributed over three quarters of the curve. An independent claim is also included for a method for inspecting a lumen.
