Provided is an electromotive drive device that is of a construction machine and that is capable of lengthening operation time. The electromotive drive device of an electric mini shovel is provided with: an electricity storage device (7); a motor generator (27) that sends/receives power to/from the electricity storage device (7); a hydraulic pump (29) driven by the motor generator (27); a plurality of direction switching valves (32, 34) that respectively control the flow of hydraulic oil from the hydraulic pump (29) to a plurality of hydraulic actuators (13A, 19); and a plurality of operation devices (31, 33) that respectively operate the plurality of direction switching valves (32, 34). A bidirectional converter (28) is provided that decelerates the motor generator (27) to an idling rotational frequency when X seconds have elapsed with the plurality of direction switching valves (32, 34) all being in an un-operated stated. The bidirectional converter (28) performs regeneration control that converts the inertial force of the rotor of the motor generator (27) to electrical power and charges the electricity storage device (7) when decelerating the motor generator (27) from a standard rotational frequency to an idling rotational frequency. |
