<p>The present invention provides: a rubber composition which is capable of improving fuel consumption saving, wet grip performance, wear resistance and steering stability in a balanced manner; and a pneumatic tire which uses the rubber composition. The present invention relates to a rubber composition which contains a rubber component, a silica (1) that has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 100 m2/g or less, and a silica (2) that has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 180 m2/g or more. In the rubber composition, the content of a conjugated diene polymer, which has a constituent unit derived from a conjugated diene and a constituent unit represented by formula (I) and at least one end of which is modified with a specific compound, is 5% by mass or more per 100% by mass of the rubber component, and the total content of the silica (1) and the silica (2) per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is 30-150 parts by mass.</p> |
